2012-13 Season Preview and Predictions: Phoenix Suns

2011-12 Record: 33-33

Playoffs: N/A

Key losses: Steve Nash and Grant Hill

Key additions: Michael Beasley, Goran Dragic, Kendall Marshall

Let me just get this out of the way before I go any further. The Phoenix Suns just lost the man that was THE face of their franchise, THE identity of their offense, and one of THE best point guards in NBA history.

And even WITH him, they were only a .500 team in 2011-12.

The Phoenix Suns are going to be the worst team in the Western Conference in 2012-13.

It hurts, but I just can’t see how it isn’t true.

I like Dragic, I love Kendall Marshall. But Beasley isn’t a “go to” scorer. They don’t have one, they don’t have a great rebounder, and you would be hard pressed to show me a single one of these guys that is a feared defender.

Alvin Gentry has got his work cut out for him in Phoenix.

Prediction: 27-55. 15th in the Western Conference.
