Robbie Cano, put on a show!

New York Yankees second basemen Robinson Cano put on a show from start to finish on Monday night.
Most of the time, when you think of home run mashers, you think out fieldes, or first or third basemen. Not middle infielders. But Robbie said to hell with that in a big way on Monday, showin that he was obviously extremely familiar with his father’s pitches.
Quite simply and more importantly than anything else…Robbie simply has the kind of smooth and effortless swing that was MADE for this contest. That kind of smooth and effortless swing was what helped Ken Griffey Jr. to completely dominate the home run derby in the 1990’s.
What is more important than anything on Monday night was NOT the fact that Robbie, a player from my beloved New York Yankees won. It was NOT the fact that he hit more homers in the final round than any other player in the history of the derby. It was the fact that Robbie brushed off two Red Sox in David Ortiz as well as the Bo Sox newest addition on his way to the home run crown.
Chalk it up as another victory for my beloved Yanks over the hated Boston Red Sox.
Now if only we could beat those bastards on the field this season…
